Resurrection Creek Bridge
Nick Georgelos
Construction of a 100-foot span Acrow Bridge crossing Resurrection Creek located in Hope, AK. The installation of this bridge now provides access for heavy construction equipment to perform Phase II of a multi-year stream restoration project occurring over a 2.2 mile stretch of Resurrection Creek.
The first statge of this project included site layout, tree clearing, drainage installations, site preparation, excavation and foundation construction work. The site layout design and construction needed to accommodate a re-route of an existing drainage system, access for a 300-ton off-road crane, area designated for the erection of the bridge structure, as well as the foundation for the final bridge location.
The second stage of the bridge construction included the erection of the bridge structure, mobilization of the crane and final placement of the bridge structure.
The final stage of project included construction approach ramps, decking the bridge, installing the guardrail, final grading and installation of signage and site clean-up.
