Our History
Geo Contracting was founded in 2010 by Nick and Lauren Georgelos performing excavation services for many different residential, commercial, and governmental clients in Girdwood, the greater Anchorage area, the Kenai Peninsula, and Southeast Alaska.
The name 'Geo' was derived from a family-owned Greek diner in Gloversville, NY that was started by Nick's grandparents in 1954 and later owned and operated by his parents. The name of the diner was Tegeo's, each letter representing a name of the founders, Theodore (Grandfather), Elizabeth (Grandmother), Georgelos. The name was shortened to 'Geo,' the Greek root word for earth, soil, and ground.
Whether your project is small and residential or a major excavation, Geo Contracting provides superior professional services catered to the needs of every client. Honesty, pride, and craftsmanship are at the core of everything we do.
